Changes to Easter holidays from 2006From 2006, the Queensland Government will take a flexible approach to dates for the Easter holidays so that school terms are of similar length. When Easter falls later in a year, the Easter school holidays dates can be scheduled by the Minister for the week leading up to the Easter celebrations. Schools in the north and westSome state schools finish the school year one week earlier than other state schools. These schools are north of the 16th parallel of south latitude or west of the 144th meridian of east longitude; or at Alpha, Aramac, Augathella, Barcaldine, Blackall, Cameron Downs, Charleville, Cunnamulla, Eulo, Hughenden, Ilfracombe, Isisford, Jericho, Longreach, Muttaburra, Prairie, Quilpie, Tambo, Wyandra or Yaraka. While these state schools in these areas finish the school year one week earlier, they start back at the same time as other state schools. Check with your local school.
