Absences from School

When children are absent from school, parents must provide a brief note to teachers or a phone call to the office (40954152) explaining the reason for their child's absence.  This will enable teachers to be aware of those circumstances which may be affecting the physical or emotional health of their students, as well as meeting Education Queensland requirements that all reasons for absence are recorded in the class rolls. 

Accidents and Illness 

On occasions it is possible, that children will fall ill whilst at school. 

In those cases where a child falls ill, immediate steps will be taken to advise parents.  In order to contact parents it is NECESSARY that the school maintains accurate and up-to-date records of each child. 

Upon enrolment, parents will be asked to complete a "Student Information Sheet" which provides essential information about children.  Please ensure that should any information change, e.g. telephone numbers at home or at work, home address, etc, that you advise the school of such changes so that records can be updated.

Admission Ages for 2007

Preparatory - Child born 1 January 2002 to 30 June 2002

Year 1 - Child born 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2001

Anzac Day

Our school community celebrates Anzac Day each year by involving our students in a ceremony at the school.

 Appointments

Parents are always welcome to discuss children’s progress, concerns or other related matters with class teachers or the Principal.  It is requested that appointments be made for this purpose so that a convenient time can be allocated.  Please phone the school to organise an appointment - telephone 4095 4152 or fax 4095 4518.

 Arts Council

The Queensland Arts Council presents two sessions for each of the performances at school [this is dependent on the programs on offer]. These provide an opportunity to view and participate in shows of cultural, artistic, and educational merit. The shows are advertised well in advance. Payment must be brought before or on the day of the performance in the envelope provided. These performances cost $6.00 per child or $15.00 per family with three or more children and we encourage all children to attend. Other educational presentations are scheduled during this year. These include Educate Me and choral presentations.
